Quick Piss

QuickPiss

I semi-recently made a move from Des Moines to NYC. Despite the thousands of miles that lay between me and the homeland, I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard people talk about the notably young act Quick Piss. Complete with the rolling instrumentals and in-your-face vocals/yelling that seem to fit so well inside of the Vaudeville Mews, Stone Mills will quite literally rock your face off. But what’s most exciting about this group is the rotation of musicians it brings to the stage. While you can always expect a solid mix of local musicians, Mills is just as comfortable taking the stage solo for a slightly tamed (but just as enticing) performance.

They’re a truly local act—friends hanging out and jamming at the same time while a crowd takes it all in. And while that can be a bit confusing at times if you don’t those involved, Quick Piss manages to maintain a style that mixes into line-ups of all genres: hip-hop, rock (of course), garage rock, indie, you name it. Make sure to see them jam out at this year’s 80/35.
